About the role
Responsibilities
- Organize and manage internal Shari'a audit assignments according to internal plans
- Oversee the process of internal Shari'a audits and make policy recommendations
- Ensure organization conforms with Shari'a rules and principles to mitigate non-compliance risk
- Perform complex internal Shari'a audit assignments to identify and resolve compliance issues
- Adhere to AAOIFI and Institute of Internal Audit standards
- Develop risk-based Shari'a audit programs and checklists
- Prepare assignment planning memorandums and working papers
- Provide guidance to other Shari'a auditors
- Participate in special reviews and evaluate control adequacy
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Sharia, Islamic Economics, or Islamic Banking
- CISSA and CIPA certifications (or alternatives)
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in Arabic and English
- Strong IT skills
