About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead, hire, and coach a team of Business Development Managers
- Develop and drive strategic growth plans for an agency portfolio based on market trends
- Build and maintain relationships with agency leadership to align on production targets
- Design and implement incentive programs to motivate agencies
- Oversee contract creation, negotiation, and renewal with agencies
- Lead business reviews covering account KPIs and premium goal progress
- Train agents and brokers on underwriting guidelines
- Represent Nirvana at industry conferences and client meetings
Requirements
- 8+ years in commercial insurance, preferably in commercial auto or transportation
- 8+ years of field sales and/or program marketing experience
- 2+ years leading a team with a track record of developing talent
- Executive presence and strong communication skills
- Ability to operate in a high-growth, ambiguous startup environment
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time
