Manager, Student Accessibility Services

Responsibilities

• Administer operations and activities in the Department of Student Accessibility Services to align with university goals
• Manage the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Team to support students with special needs
• Develop and implement long-range and short-range plans for special education objectives
• Provide ongoing SEN assessments and create individual educational plans (IEP)
• Advise and support faculty in teaching and curriculum delivery for students with special needs
• Coordinate professional workshops on accessibility for faculty, staff, and high schools
• Manage the department budget and administrative reporting for both Abu Dhabi and Dubai locations
• Ensure compliance with current disability laws
• Facilitate communication and problem-solving between faculty, staff, and students regarding accommodations
• Organize awareness events and marketing initiatives to encourage student self-identification

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in School or Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 8 years of experience working with SEN students
• Recognized license in school or clinical psychology (covering Learning Difficulties)
• Willingness to travel between Abu Dhabi and Dubai as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with UAE and Arabic collective society and culture
• Strong knowledge of group dynamics and personal counseling techniques
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to work unsupervised and motivate others
