Medical Records Advocate

Responsibilities

• Obtain medical records from provider locations in a timely and accurate manner
• Communicate with medical offices, hospitals, laboratories, and copy services to obtain member records
• Organize, review, and track incoming records, identifying missing documentation and imaging
• Collaborate with clinicians and cross-functional partners on records needs and case progression
• Prepare records for clinical review by trimming, bookmarking, and indexing
• Provide timely status updates to members throughout the records collection process
• Maintain thorough case notes documenting outreach, case status, and next steps
• Manage a fast-paced workload with competing priorities

Requirements

• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to take meticulous notes and document actions clearly
• Ability to make independent decisions with minimal supervision
• Ability to influence without direct authority
• Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with medical records, records collection, or business-to-business collections
