Responsibilities

  • Maintain and oversee the company's AML, CFT, CPF, and financial crime compliance framework
  • Lead institutional money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing risk assessments
  • Establish second line requirements for customer identification, due diligence, and risk classification
  • Oversee the effectiveness of transaction monitoring arrangements and investigate complex cases
  • Assess internal suspicious activity referrals and submit STRs/SARs to the UAE FIU
  • Act as the key point of contact for the CBUAE, UAE FIU, and other relevant UAE authorities
  • Prepare and submit semi-annual MLRO compliance reports to Senior Management and the CBUAE
  • Lead and develop the UAE Financial Crime Compliance team
  • Assess financial crime risks arising from new products, services, and technologies

Requirements

  • 8 or more years of experience in AML, CFT, sanctions, or financial crime compliance
  • Experience within a regulated financial institution, fintech, or payment service provider
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with the CBUAE in a comparable role
  • Strong understanding of UAE AML, CFT, CPF, and targeted financial sanctions requirements
  • Proven expertise in suspicious transaction reporting and financial crime investigations
  • Strong report-writing and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to lead a team and manage sensitive information with discretion
