About the Company

mxdwn is an online music and entertainment magazine with news, reviews and features about the latest and best in modern entertainment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive conversation surrounding movies and movie industry news
  • Engage with critical conversations regarding industry trends and new releases
  • Write feature and opinion content regarding filmmaking and storytelling

Requirements

  • Demonstrable writing experience, including movie reviews
  • Ability to conduct internet research to find reputable information
  • Familiarity with the film industry and current trends
  • Submission of two writing samples is mandatory

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the film industry or covering movies
  • Connections within specific film industry subsections
  • Proficiency with WordPress, Google Drive, Slack, and basic HTML
  • Ability to explain complex filmmaking decisions to a lay audience
