Network & Systems Engineer (Vulnerability Management)

Responsibilities

• Own the scheduled Qualys VMDR scan calendar and extract vulnerability details
• Fix vulnerabilities and apply patches remotely across Windows/Linux servers, network devices, and cloud workloads
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation, responding to critical findings and emergency patches
• Plan and execute after-hours, weekend, and public-holiday maintenance windows
• Raise and execute Change Requests and join client CAB meetings
• Automate recurring remediation and reporting tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Qualys APIs
• Perform post-remediation verification re-scans and maintain the vulnerability register
• Provide backup coverage for the onsite engineer

Requirements

• 3-6 years of experience in network/systems engineering with hands-on patching
• Proficiency with Qualys (VMDR) and familiarity with Qualys Splunk Add-on
• Strong hands-on patching of Windows Server and Linux (WSUS/SCCM, package managers)
• Experience patching network devices, security devices, and virtualization hosts
• Proven experience delivering remote support via VPN/jump host/bastion access
• Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell/Bash)
• Understanding of CVSS/CVE and ITIL change management processes
• Willingness and availability for 24x7 on-call rotation
• Strong written English, documentation, and remote coordination skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications: Qualys VMDR, MCSA/RHCSA, CompTIA Security+/Network+, CCNA, Azure Administrator, or ITIL Foundation
• Self-managing and reliable without direct supervision
• Automation-minded and precise in documentation
• Calm under out-of-hours pressure
