Non-QM Underwriter

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough credit and collateral reviews of loan files to determine deficiencies
• Manually calculate income across all non-QM programs, including complex self-employed profiles and variable cash flow
• Conduct REO analysis and review title, trust, and condo documents
• Meet contractual turn times for initial, resubmission, and CTC reviews
• Analyze complex, high page count tax returns
• Communicate professionally with processors, LOs, and client account managers
• Evaluate Non-QM loan applications for compliance with client, investor guidelines, and company policies
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with Non-QM loans

Requirements

• 5+ years of recent, hands-on experience in Non-QM underwriting
• Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to mortgage banking (TILA, ECOA, RESPA)
• Expert knowledge of AUS (DU, LP) results and FNMA/FHLMC underwriting guidelines
• Ability to independently review Title documentation and Appraisal reports
• Strong knowledge of Trust, LLC, and Corporation documents
• Experience with Non-QM loan origination systems and software
• Ability to calculate full and alternative document income methods (DSCR, 1099, asset utilization, bank statements, etc.)
