Non-QM Underwriter

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough credit and collateral review of loan files to determine deficiencies
• Manually calculate income across all non-QM programs including complex self-employed profiles
• Conduct REO analysis and review title, trust, and condo documents
• Meet contractual turn times for initial, and resubmission, and CTC reviews
• Communicate professionally with processors, LOs, and client account managers
• Evaluate Non-QM loan applications for compliance with client, investor, and company policies
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with Non-QM loans
• Train and mentor peers
• Support and work on multiple loans for one borrower

Requirements

• Recent experience underwriting Non-QM loan programs
• Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws (TILA, ECOA, RESPA, etc.)
• Strong ability to independently review Title, Appraisal, and Full condo project reviews
• Expert knowledge of AUS (DU, LP) results
• Full understanding of current FNMA/FHLMC underwriting guidelines
• 5+ years recent, hands-on experience in Non-QM underwriting
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
• Strong understanding of Non-QM borrower profiles, income, and documentation requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Non-QM loan origination systems and software
• Demonstrated ability to calculate full and alternative document income methods (DSCR, 1099, asset utilization, etc.)
