Nonprofit Chief Financial Officer

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual close and creation of client financial statements
• Oversee year-end adjustments and maintenance of balance sheet accounts
• Coach Executive Directors and CEOs on financial education and strategic guidance
• Complete high-level financial analyses to support client decision making
• Manage communication with auditors and tax accountants
• Advise private foundation clients on grantmaking, board reporting and compliance

Requirements

• Minimum five years hands-on full-charge nonprofit or private foundation experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP as applied to nonprofit accounting
• Knowledge of grants and grant accounting
• Strong QuickBooks and Excel proficiency
• Excellent written and verbal English communication

Preferred Qualifications

• Audit experience or experience supporting an employer's audit
• Familiarity with IRS Form 990-PF requirements
• Private foundation reporting and governance experience
