Platform Engineer - Compute Capacity

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain capacity plans to keep compute supply ahead of demand
• Support buffer policy by modeling headroom targets and cost tradeoffs
• Automate reservation acquisition, fleet reconciliation, and drift detection
• Extend infrastructure as code for capacity-relevant provisioning
• Instrument capacity metrics for saturation, coverage, and latency
• Build and tune capacity alerting systems
• Support demand intake for large customer commitments and new regions
• Drive down compute costs through right-sizing and placement work
• Participate in capacity incident response

Requirements

• 5+ years in infrastructure engineering, SRE, platform, or capacity engineering
• Production software engineering experience with TypeScript, Python, or Go
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi or Terraform)
• Solid working knowledge of AWS EC2 mechanics
• Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch
• Ability to communicate clearly with both engineers and finance stakeholders
