Principal AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and own architecture for complex GenAI and agentic systems
• Build hands-on with foundation models, embedding fine-tuning, and advanced RAG pipelines
• Design for production-grade latency, reliability, cost, and scale using MLOps discipline
• Architect and operate agentic workflows that automate complex reasoning
• Advise client leadership and shape technical solutions during pre-sales engagements
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through architecture reviews and technical leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years in software, AI, or ML engineering
• Proven track record of deploying GenAI or agentic products to production at scale
• Mastery of Python and shell scripting
• Deep expertise with Google Gemini, GPT-class, and open models like LLaMA
• Experience with vector databases such as Vertex AI Vector Search, Pinecone, or pgvector
• Strong command of LangChain or LlamaIndex
• Experience with Google Cloud and Vertex AI
• Senior client-facing experience translating technical complexity for executives

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with classic machine learning including neural networks, training, and tuning
• Expertise in foundation-model or novel-model work
• Strong data engineering and SQL knowledge
