About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key legal partner to Product and Engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle
- Implement privacy-by-design principles and provide guidance on HIPAA/HITECH and state privacy laws
- Lead privacy assessments for new features, including AI-powered capabilities
- Draft and maintain user-facing legal documents
- Advise on data-sharing, vendor integrations, and advertising/consumer protection matters
- Build scalable legal resources and collaborate with Security, Compliance, Operations, and Finance
Requirements
- JD degree and active bar membership
- 3–6 years of experience counseling product and engineering teams on privacy and technology matters
- Strong foundation in healthcare privacy and data protection laws
- Excellent communication skills and sound judgment regarding risk vs. business velocity
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI/ML technologies
- Experience with intellectual property law
- Experience with advertising law
