Canvas Medical, established in 2015, is the EMR company accelerating everyday medicine at the speed of science. Canvas helps customers optimize the clinician experience using its unified architecture and developer tools, enabling optimized workflows, connected patient experiences, and integrated healthcare data.

Responsibilities

• Build, ship, and iterate plugins directly using Canvas's SDK and AI-assisted development tools
• Drive rapid iteration cycles to get functional solutions in front of customers quickly
• Design plugins that solve problems for many customers by identifying broadly applicable patterns
• Work with Platform Engineering to identify and translate platform gaps into concrete requirements
• Partner with Support, Implementation, Sales, and Customer Experience to translate customer signals into a prioritized plugin ecosystem
• Shape the product vision for the Canvas plugin ecosystem and developer experience

Requirements

• Experience in product management, solutions engineering, or a hybrid technical role
• Demonstrated ability to use modern AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Replit, Cursor, etc.) to build software independently
• Strong systems thinking skills regarding technical composability and user experience coherence
• Strong product and design sense with an eye for aesthetic and structural integrity
• Ability to tackle complex problems and navigate ambiguity using first-principles thinking
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare technology background with understanding of clinical workflows
• Hands-on experience with Python or similar languages
• Familiarity with FHIR or clinical data standards
• Experience building on top of EMR or health tech platforms
• Background in designing agent-based or multi-step automation workflows
