Program Manager, State & Enterprise Programs

Wonderschool is the operating system for child care in America. State governments and large enterprises partner with us to run child care licensing, subsidy programs, and provider and family search on our platform.

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery plan for each engagement across all workstreams, tracking milestones, UAT cycles, and acceptance against contracted statements of work
• Run client cadence including weekly status, steering meetings, escalations, and working sessions with agency staff, legal, and state IT
• Maintain dependency registers and hold both clients and internal teams to scheduled dates
• Manage scope through capability traceability, acceptance criteria negotiation, and change requests
• Produce deliverables for client review and keep leadership informed of portfolio risks
• Coordinate with engineering leads on integration timelines with state systems like ERP platforms and data hubs
• Build repeatable program playbooks for scaling state and enterprise clients

Requirements

• 5+ years of program or project management on complex software delivery
• Experience managing contractual milestones, UAT-based acceptance, and formal change control
• Strong written communication skills for status reports and acceptance criteria
• Ability to manage plans involving teams without direct authority
• Experience with government or regulated-industry clients strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with child care programs in state government (licensing, subsidy/CCAP, eligibility, or provider systems)
• Experience with state human services or eligibility systems
• Familiarity with state procurement processes
