SEN Teacher

Responsibilities

• Identify students requiring SEN support through assessment and liaise with parents, teachers, and specialists
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for Cycle 3 students
• Provide differentiated instruction and intervention in-class and through withdrawal sessions
• Collaborate with subject teachers to ensure effective curriculum differentiation and accommodations
• Manage applications for IGCSE and A-Level exam access arrangements following JCQ guidelines
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, interventions, and stakeholder communications
• Contribute to school safeguarding and student welfare

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or a relevant subject area
• PGCE, B.Ed with QTS, or equivalent British-trained teaching qualification
• Specialist qualification in Special Educational Needs (e.g., NASENCO, Master's in Special Education)
• Minimum 3 years of full-time teaching experience as a qualified SEN Teacher or Coordinator in a British curriculum school
• Experience working with secondary students (Cycle 3) with needs such as dyslexia, ADHD, and ASD
• Proven track record managing IEPs and supporting IGCSE/A-Level qualifications
• Proficiency in SEN assessment tools and differentiated instruction
• Knowledge of JCQ regulations for exam access arrangements
• Ability to comply with Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) standards
