Senior Accountant – Finance & Reporting

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities and ensure timely and accurate completion
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports
• Maintain and review the general ledger, journal entries, accruals, provisions, prepayments, and account reconciliations
• Manage and review accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and intercompany transactions
• Prepare budget vs. actual reports, variance analysis, and financial performance reports for management
• Monitor and account for real estate development project costs, development expenses, revenues, and project-related financial transactions
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and financial planning activities
• Ensure accounting records and financial reports comply with IFRS, UAE VAT requirements, and internal financial policies
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and prepare schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
• Review financial data, identify discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution of accounting and reporting issues
• Maintain effective internal financial controls and support continuous improvement of accounting and reporting processes
• Provide management with accurate, timely, and meaningful financial information to support business decisions

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience
• Mandatory hands-on experience with a real estate developer in the UAE
• Strong experience in financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and month-end closing, and account reconciliations
• Good understanding of real estate development accounting, project costs, revenue, and and development expenses
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and UAE VAT requirements
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, variance analysis, and management reporting
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/accounting systems
• Strong analytical, numerical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CA, CMA, or CPA would be an advantage
