Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Prepare and review financial reports through NetSuite
• Perform intercompany balance reconciliations and monthly reconciliation exercises
• Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns in compliance with German regulations
• Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB)
• Prepare corporate income tax returns
• Review and oversee bookkeeping performed by junior team members
• Lead and coach junior accounting team members
• Execute and maintain control processes for closing cycles
• Support external audits and tax inspections
• Serve as the local accounting counterpart to Global Accounting

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior accounting role
• Strong knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB), VAT, and statutory reporting
• Experience preparing annual financial statements and corporate income tax returns
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system
• Experience reviewing accounting work and guiding junior colleagues
• Fluency in German and English
