Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and post journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities within agreed timelines
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS / applicable accounting standards
• Review and supervise the work of General Accountant and Accounts Payable staff
• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve outstanding items promptly
• Maintain the fixed asset register, depreciation schedules, and asset tagging
• Conduct variance analysis of actual results against budget and prior periods
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to queries
• Assist the Chief Accountant / Finance Manager with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
• 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and general accounting principles
• Proficiency in Oracle Financials or SAP FI/CO
• Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups

Preferred Qualifications

• Part-qualified or qualified ACCA, CA, CMA, or CPA
• Familiarity with reporting or BI tools
