About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist the Controller with the external audit, managing auditor requests, PBC lists and timelines
- Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation
- Own or assist with revenue recognition memos under ASC 606
- Lead accounting for inventory and stock-based compensation under ASC 718
- Play Maker and/or Checker role during month-end and quarter-end close
- Design, document and test internal controls
- Own payroll end to end in Rippling, including multi-state payroll tax compliance
- Mentor and review the work of staff accountants
- Support the Controller on budgeting and special projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; active CPA
- 8+ years progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years at a Big 4 firm
- Experience leading or supporting an initial financial statement audit
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP (ASC 606, ASC 330, ASC 718)
- Track record managing auditor relationships
- Strong close, reconciliation and internal controls experience
- Hands-on payroll management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at a high-growth or pre-IPO company
- Exposure to Rippling, Carta and Ramp
- ERP implementation experience
- Experience supervising staff accountants
