About the role
About the Company
Kota is reimagining insurance and retirement benefits for the modern workforce. Through our two flagship products, Kota Platform and Kota Embed, we are making benefits more accessible, valued, and global.
Responsibilities
- Design and ship AI agent systems end to end, from early experiments through to production
- Own the data access layer, retrieval strategy, and integration with existing infrastructure
- Build and own the evaluation framework from scratch, including golden datasets and regression harnesses
- Set the technical direction for AI at Kota regarding agent architecture and product leverage
- Collaborate with the AI Product Lead and Platform team to surface new AI opportunities
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- 2+ years working directly on LLM or AI agent systems in production
- Strong grasp of agent architecture, context management, tool use, and prompt design
- Experience building evaluation frameworks (golden datasets, regression testing)
- Ability to work across the full stack
- Clear written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in fintech, payroll, HR tech, or benefits
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or the Microsoft ecosystem
- Experience generating synthetic evaluation data
- Experience working in early-stage or scale-up environments
