About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform inpatient facility coding quality audits and reviews of internal coders and auditors
- Analyze coding trends, run audit score reports, and recommend corrective action
- Research audit findings using AHA Coding Clinic and official ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines
- Provide education, feedback, and coaching to coders, auditors and clients
- Participate in peer review and calibration activities
- Assist in developing training programs and senior-level HIM consulting projects
Requirements
- Active RHIA, RHIT or CCS certification
- 2 to 5 years of inpatient facility coding audit experience
- Expertise in ICD-10-CM/PCS, POA indicators, MS-DRG and APR-DRG
- Strong computer skills and HIPAA-compliant file handling
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
