About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the long-range publication plan with Clinical Development, Biostatistics and Medical Affairs
- Build an integrated roadmap for manuscripts, abstracts, posters and oral presentations
- Lead the scientific congress strategy and end-to-end publication development
- Coordinate author review and ensure compliance with GPP and ICMJE standards
- Manage external medical communications agencies, vendors and freelance writers
- Optimize publication workflows and manage the publication budget
Requirements
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree (PhD, PharmD, MD or equivalent)
- 10+ years in scientific communications, medical writing or publications, at least 8 in medical writing
- Experience developing strategic publication plans for clinical-stage programs
- Ability to interpret clinical trial data and statistical outputs
- Knowledge of GPP, ICMJE, OIG, PhRMA and EFPIA guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in nephrology, immunology or autoimmune disease
- Experience supporting scientific communication platforms
- People leadership in a publications or medical communications function
- CMPP credential
