Senior Director, Real World Data (RWD)

Responsibilities

• Lead the operations and continuous improvement of the RWD curation pipeline, integrating AI and agentic workflows to drive efficiency.
• Create a multi-year strategy for the acquisition, management, and use of RWD to support regulatory submissions and clinical evidence.
• Architect and maintain a scalable RWD platform capable of ingesting and harmonizing EHR, claims, and imaging data.
• Serve as the RWD expert, collaborating with Clinical Development, Biostatistics, Regulatory Affairs, and Engineering teams.
• Oversee the translation of raw datasets into research-ready, regulatory-grade datasets following OMOP or industry standards.
• Manage the RWD department budget and lead a team of clinical informaticists and data analysts.

Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• At least 12 years of progressive experience in clinical informatics, including EHR, claims, and molecular data.
• At least 10 years of experience building and leading high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience with data modeling, terminology normalization, and unstructured data abstraction via NLP.
• Deep knowledge of health system ontologies (ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT, LOINC, RxNorm).
• Proficiency with Python, R, and/or SQL.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting real-world evidence FDA submissions or payer/guideline dossiers.
• Clinical background (MD, NP, RN, or similar).
• Experience with cloud-based data environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience working with health systems or data vendors on licensing and ingestion projects.
