About the role
Responsibilities
- Define and execute consumer architecture supporting New Verticals' expansion into essential spend
- Partner with engineering leaders across Flex to align technical decisions and reuse shared capabilities
- Guide design reviews and make high-impact technical decisions
- Lead large, ambiguous projects from early exploration through launch and scale
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of engineers
- Own production health and reliability of the team's consumer services
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience spanning frontend and backend
- 3+ years managing engineers
- Experience building and scaling consumer-facing products and APIs
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, service architecture, reliability and data integrity
- Track record partnering with business and product leaders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building consumer fintech, payments, banking or lending products
- Experience launching a new product or business line
- Familiarity with bill management or payment workflows
- Experience partnering with Risk and Compliance in a regulated environment
