Senior Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage the engineering team directly through 1:1s, feedback, performance, and promotions
• Own software delivery and ensure predictable shipping rhythms
• Help engineers develop professional skills like scoping, estimating, and decision-making
• Maintain hands-on involvement in coding and technical decision-making
• Manage technical escalations and prioritize responses across customer and open-source issues
• Shape the product roadmap and make explicit technical tradeoffs

Requirements

• At least two years of experience managing engineers
• Proven track record of hiring and developing talent
• Strong background in software engineering and architectural reasoning
• Experience working in a startup environment
• Proficiency with coding agents and AI tooling
• Ability to balance long-term product work with customer deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ML tooling, data platforms, or evaluation systems
• Experience managing distributed teams
• Depth in frontend architecture
