About the role
Responsibilities
- Take game ideas from concept to complete playable prototype, owning the process from A to Z
- Define and iterate on core game mechanics, rules, player flows, and overall gameplay experience
- Design and implement functional UI/UX for mobile platforms
- Build frontend, game logic, bots, lightweight backend, and multiplayer functionality
- Use AI coding agents and AI-assisted development tools to increase development speed
- Scope ideas down to their smallest testable version to validate hypotheses quickly
- Run playtests, analyze results, and recommend whether to iterate, progress, or stop
- Package game rules and technical learnings for handoff to the production team
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional game development experience or an exceptional portfolio
- Portfolio of at least 5 completed playable games, prototypes, or commercial titles
- Strong programming fundamentals across frontend and backend systems
- Experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot
- Ability to work independently from incomplete briefs and make design decisions
- Strong judgment regarding scope and iteration
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience prototyping card, board, casual, or multiplayer games
- Proficiency with TypeScript/JavaScript and frameworks like Phaser or PixiJS
- Experience with Unity and server-authoritative multiplayer systems
- Experience using generative AI for art, animation, and audio assets
