About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as legal generalist and key partner to compliance, operations, finance and technology teams
- Own regulatory implementation projects, including internal policies, compliance frameworks (DORA in Malta) and regulatory reporting
- Lead legal side of new market entry: entity setup, licensing and engagement with regulators
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including complex non-standard contracts
- Advise on employment and HR matters across multiple legal entities
- Manage external counsels where specialist advice is needed
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 7+ years of experience, in-house, law firm or both
- Handles a wide range of legal matters independently and to deadline
- Comfortable with long, process-heavy projects
- Advanced daily user of modern AI tools
- Clear communicator who explains complex matters simply
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a regulated or licensed business
