Senior Manager - Data Engineering

Responsibilities

• Serve as the internal authority on Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, cost governance, and security
• Design and maintain a scalable, well-documented warehouse structure
• Own the dbt project end-to-end, including modeling conventions, testing strategy, and CI/CD integration
• Lead the design and operation of data pipelines on Azure using Azure Data Factory
• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of data engineers through regular 1:1s and career development
• Define and enforce organization-wide ETL/ELT best practices and code review standards
• Champion data quality, observability, and lineage across the platform

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field
• 7+ years in data engineering with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
• Production-grade Snowflake expertise including architecture design and cost management
• Fluency with dbt at scale
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory
• Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python for data pipeline development
• Proven ability to lead teams while remaining technically engaged

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with data observability tooling like Elementary or Monte Carlo
• Exposure to Snowflake Cortex, Snowpark ML, or other AI/ML capabilities
• Experience in high-growth or scale-up environments
