About the role
Responsibilities
- Implement the annual Shari'a assessment and testing plan using a risk-based methodology
- Assist the Head of Unit in managing the SAT unit and its team members
- Perform Shari'a monitoring and assurance reviews across Bank business units
- Evaluate operations and transactions for compliance with HSA standards and CBUAE regulations
- Draft review reports and communicate findings to leadership
- Monitor implementation of action plans from field reviews
- Assess Shari'a non-compliance risks and related controls
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Shari'a, Islamic banking or equivalent
- Expert knowledge of banking and Islamic banking products
- Expert knowledge of AAOIFI Shari'a Standards
- 5+ years in Shari'a related functions in Islamic banking
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Fluent Arabic and English
Preferred Qualifications
- AAOIFI CSAA and/or CIPA certifications
- Experience in Shari'a compliance, consultation or audit
