About the role
Responsibilities
- Build and operate backend services moving data from warehouse queries to downstream systems
- Improve event handling, query execution, result transformation and delivery coordination
- Build and maintain APIs and integrations across major cloud data warehouses
- Participate in on-call rotation, respond to production issues and improve reliability
- Find and fix problems affecting correctness, speed, reliability, security and operability
- Build shared components, automation, documentation and tools
- Mentor engineers through code reviews and context sharing
Requirements
- 5+ years of production coding experience, strong in Python
- Deep experience designing and maintaining services with end-to-end ownership including on-call
- Experience with backend-heavy and distributed systems on GCP or AWS
- Building for reliability, security and observability at scale
- Comfort with ambiguity and high agency
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a startup or high-growth environment
- Daily use of AI tools and interest in ML and agentic products
