Senior/Staff Software Engineer, Cloud & Real Time Infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Own the full data path from the edge, through streaming ingestion, into the warehouse, and back out to asset dispatch
• Manage AWS infrastructure as code using Terraform across multiple accounts
• Operate containerized services on ECS and Lambda
• Build systems to make agent-authored AI code changes safe at scale via CI/CD and automated guardrails
• Participate in on-call rotation for systems connected to physical plant assets
• Create self-service tools and platform capabilities for internal engineering teams

Requirements

• Several years of experience building and operating cloud infrastructure at scale
• Expertise in AWS, Terraform, containers, and CI/CD
• Hands-on site reliability experience including primary on-call responsibility
• Experience with real-time or physical systems (industrial tech, energy, robotics, etc.)
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or both
• Practical experience using AI development tools regularly
• Experience performing zero-downtime migrations for stateful services

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with industrial protocols like MQTT or Sparkplug B
• Familiarity with HiveMQ, NATS, Ignition, or industrial historians
• Expertise in time-series or high-cardinality data at scale
• Experience with ClickHouse, Dagster, or streaming ingestion systems
• Experience with energy markets or grid-connected assets
