About the role
Responsibilities
- Define SLIs and SLOs for core services and build Grafana dashboards with burn-rate alerting
- Stand up incident management practice including PagerDuty tooling and on-call training
- Own observability stack: metrics, logs, traces, RUM and synthetic checks
- Partner with engineering teams to refine SLIs, SLOs and error budgets
- Automate toil through infrastructure as code and tooling
- Design load tests and chaos engineering game days
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training in computer science with systems depth
- Daily hands-on use of AI tools to accelerate development
- 5+ years in SRE, DevOps or production engineering
- Hands-on SLI/SLO/error-budget implementation
- Grafana, PromQL, Prometheus or Datadog, OpenTelemetry
- Incident management and on-call design experience
- Python, Go or Bash; Terraform or Ansible; Kubernetes; major cloud platform
- Strong cross-functional communication and independent ownership
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience founding an SRE practice from zero
- GitOps and just-in-time production access experience
- eBPF-based instrumentation experience
- .NET experience
