Social Media and Communications Officer

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver an annual communications and social-media strategy
• Manage an integrated editorial calendar covering events, learning stories, and parent information
• Own the school's organic presence on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and other channels
• Create platform-specific content including short-form video, photography, and news articles
• Lead newsletters, parent emails, and event communications
• Strengthen parent and community engagement through participation campaigns
• Coordinate with Head Office and website providers to maintain site accuracy
• Provide long-form coverage for significant school events
• Guard brand identity, visual standards, and tone of voice
• Monitor and report on communication success measures and engagement data

Requirements

• Proven experience in social-media management, digital communications, content marketing, PR, or journalism
• Excellent written English and strong visual storytelling skills (photography, video, Reels, Stories, graphics)
• Working knowledge of major social media platforms, scheduling, analytics, and email marketing tools
• Experience with website content-management systems
• Ability to interpret communications data and provide practical recommendations
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
• Sound judgment and discretion regarding safeguarding, data protection, and consent when communicating about children and families
