About the Company

Swarm Aero is redefining air power, building the largest swarming UAV and the most versatile swarming aircraft network in the world. The team has aerospace experience from Scaled Composites, Airbus, Archer Aviation, Blue Origin, and Boom Supersonic.

Responsibilities

  • Develop swarming autonomy algorithms for small and large UxS
  • Build and maintain track correlation and multi-target tracking systems
  • Define inter-robot and C2 communication protocols for tactical swarm decision making
  • Build core on-vehicle software platforms for sensor and payload integration
  • Create and validate physically realistic simulations of UxS
  • Train and test automatic target recognition systems using neural networks
  • Perform electronics prototyping and troubleshoot mixed hardware-software systems
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
  • Travel up to 25% for onsite test and integration events

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years building soft-real-time embedded systems
  • Deep expertise in Golang, Rust, or C/C++
  • Experience deploying robotics algorithms (SLAM, Kalman filters, A*, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of embedded systems (SPI/I2C, logic analyzers, microcontrollers)
  • Strong networking fundamentals (UDP/TCP, multicast, NAT)
  • Excellent software engineering practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with perception systems, sensor fusion, or multi-target tracking
  • Experience with robotics middleware (DDS/ROS2, ZeroMQ, gRPC)
  • Familiarity with government UxS interoperability standards (OMS/UCI, STANAG 4586)
  • Hands-on electronics skills (soldering, schematic interpretation)
  • Deep learning experience
