Job description
Responsibilities
- Resolve complex customer problems across Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, and Kubernetes
- Develop bug fixes and backport patches, working with upstream communities for inclusion
- Review code produced by other engineers and maintain clear technical communications
- Collaborate with Field, Support, and product engineering teams
- Prioritize work effectively and participate in process and documentation improvements
- Work from home with international travel up to 10% for team meetings and events
Requirements
- Exceptional academic track record and background in Computer Science, STEM, or similar
- Experience with Linux and open source software
- Experience with at least one of Python, Go, C, or C++ on Linux
- Drive to learn unfamiliar technology and deep-dive difficult issues
- Willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in or willingness to learn Ubuntu Linux, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, QEMU/KVM, LXC/LXD
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Debian packaging, or distributed systems
