Sr. Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, automated ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, dbt, and orchestration tools
• Administer and optimize cloud-based data warehouse and lake platforms including Snowflake, AWS, and Google Cloud
• Orchestrate data workflows with custom scheduling, alerting, and monitoring
• Design and maintain secure external data flows through SFTP and APIs
• Automate manual reporting and operational tasks to reduce overhead
• Partner with backend product engineers to optimize production database schemas
• Strengthen data quality, lineage, governance, and documentation practices
• Mentor teammates on version control and code review best practices

Requirements

• Expert-level proficiency in Snowflake, dbt, and Python
• Advanced SQL skills for complex querying and large-scale data model design
• Proven experience with modern orchestration tools such as Prefect and Airflow
• Hands-on administration of AWS (S3, Redshift) and Google Cloud
• Strong understanding of secure external data flows and compliance
• Mastery of Git, GitHub, and Jira

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in startup or rapid-growth environments
• Background supporting BI, analytics, and data science teams
• Familiarity with event-driven ingestion paradigms
• Exposure to compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, ISO, and SOX
• Experience in healthcare, healthtech, or SaaS industries
