About the role
Responsibilities
- Own the Android and iOS mobile domain end-to-end for a consumer VPN product
- Inherit existing mobile codebases and improve engineering quality and release processes
- Integrate and debug native libraries written in Go (Shadowsocks / WireGuard)
- Collaborate with backend, DevOps, product managers, and designers to execute the strategic roadmap
- Implement automated unit and integration testing to replace manual regression
- Ensure secure storage of tokens and keys and maintain user privacy
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional senior mobile engineering experience delivering native apps on both Android and iOS
- Expert knowledge of Kotlin, Java, Jetpack Compose, Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI
- Deep experience with platform networking and VPN APIs (Android VpnService, iOS NetworkExtension)
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, and VPN protocols like WireGuard and OpenVPN
- Experience with subscription flows (StoreKit 2, Google Play Billing, RevenueCat)
- Demonstrated proficiency using AI agents (Cursor, GitHub Copilot) for development and review
- Experience with SOLID principles, Clean Coding, and automation tools (Espresso, XCTest)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience shipping consumer VPN or privacy products
- Ability to read or write Go
- Experience with TunnelKit, OpenVPNAdapter, or userspace network stacks
- Web frontend experience with React and TypeScript
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Fastlane, or Bitrise
