About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead continuous user research every iteration: interviews, contextual inquiry, usability testing
- Synthesize findings into personas, journey maps and opportunity areas
- Own end-to-end UX for product areas: flows, information architecture, interaction and visual UI
- Build and maintain a shared design system with engineering
- Pair with engineers daily within XP team iterations
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional UI/UX or product design experience
- Deep experience with generative and evaluative research
- Experience designing enterprise, analytics or data-intensive applications
- Practical use of AI tools to speed research and prototyping
- At least 2 years as an embedded designer on an XP team
- Strong interaction design, information architecture and visual design skills
- Fluency in Figma and working knowledge of HTML, CSS and component frameworks
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in HCI, human factors, cognitive psychology or related field
- Experience researching with operators, analysts or field personnel
- Experience creating or scaling a design system
- Ability to contribute front-end code (React, TypeScript, CSS)
- Active security clearance or eligibility to obtain one
