Check is the inventor of embedded payroll, redefining how people get paid by building API infrastructure that allows businesses to launch and scale their own payroll services. We are a distributed team dedicated to making paying people simple through creative problem-solving and grit.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end process and pipeline for 5-10 high-priority searches, including building JDs and interview loops.
• Partner closely with hiring managers to define needs, challenge assumptions, and align on talent standards.
• Maintain data and process hygiene within Ashby, leveraging AI-augmented tools for sourcing and pipeline management.
• Set and maintain a high performance bar for talent while moving quickly through the hiring lifecycle.
• Work transparently as a public partner to hiring managers and leadership to inspire trust and confidence.
• Collaborate with the Head of People to build engaging hiring loops, compensation structures, and training programs.

Requirements

• 3+ years of in-house recruiting experience, ideally in a fast-paced startup or growth-stage environment.
• AI fluency with the ability to leverage AI tools for sourcing, outreach, and decision-making.
• Proficiency with Ashby and LinkedIn Recruiter.
• Proven full-cycle recruiting experience from sourcing through offer management.
• Strong outbound sourcing capabilities for hard-to-fill roles.
• Exceptional communication and storytelling skills to influence stakeholders and sell candidates on the vision.
• Ability to maintain high judgment and a high talent bar under time pressure.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward visibility and engagement.
