Sr. Software Engineer, Warehouse Execution & Control Systems (WES/WCS)

Responsibilities

• Partner with the VP of Software to develop and execute software product strategies and roadmaps
• Design, develop, and improve DATUM WES/WCS software
• Provide full stack design and development across an event-driven microservices architecture
• Use modern open-source frameworks for backend services, integrations, AI, and user interfaces
• Lead design and development for customer projects and R&D initiatives using Agile practices
• Mentor entry-level and mid-level developers and Software Delivery team members
• Support integrated system commissioning at customer sites with approximately 15% travel
• Evaluate organizational performance data to identify improvement opportunities
• Contribute to development, implementation, support, and IT activities as needed

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in industrial software development
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
• Experience with open-source software frameworks and development tools
• Proficiency with Linux command line and operating system services
• Proficiency with Git, modern IDEs, and project management platforms like Jira or Azure DevOps
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 15% for customer commissioning
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in fast-paced environments
