Staff Backend/Product Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend-heavy platform features and distributed data pipelines
• Productionalise AI-enabled capabilities such as anomaly detection and agent-based workflows
• Build reliable systems that handle backfills, late-arriving data, and historical reprocessing
• Design scalable data models and APIs that power customer-facing analytics and AI cost insights
• Implement AI features with explicit evaluation criteria, feedback loops, and guardrails

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep backend expertise in Python
• Experience building and operating data-intensive backend systems or pipelines in production
• Hands-on experience building on AWS and using AI in real production systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java or C++ as secondary languages
• Experience architecting backend services for asynchronous workflows and event-driven pipelines
• Ability to articulate technical trade-offs regarding AI latency, explainability, and maintainability
