Staff Computational Biologist

Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis and interpretation of molecular and clinical data for early cancer detection
• Suggest research hypotheses and execute research to improve computational models and assays
• Develop bioinformatics pipelines for high throughput NGS data processing
• Collaborate with wet lab scientists to characterize and iterate on experimental methods
• Stay at the forefront of molecular oncology techniques to drive next-generation assay development

Requirements

• PhD in computational biology, cancer biology, statistics, bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field
• 6+ years of scientific industry experience in biological discovery or product development
• Extensive experience in NGS assay and pipeline development
• Strong quantitative reasoning and data analysis skills
• Proficiency in Python (Numpy, Matplotlib, Pandas) or R
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, collaborative environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of chromatin biology, liquid biopsy, and DNA methylation
• Extensive experience with DNA methylation data for biomarker discovery
• Experience developing and evaluating statistical or machine learning algorithms
