About the role
Responsibilities
- Converse with language models on various language scenarios
- Verify factual accuracy and logical soundness of model outputs
- Capture reproducible error traces and document failure modes
- Suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics
- Challenge models on grammar, syntax, morphology, semantics, phonetics, and pragmatics
Requirements
- Expertise in Swahili grammar, syntax, morphology, semantics, phonetics, and pragmatics
- Ability to document linguistic nuances including noun classes and verb conjugation
- Clear, metacognitive communication skills
- Ability to provide a secure computer and high-speed internet
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Swahili language, linguistics, or a closely related field
- Peer-reviewed publications in linguistics
- Translation experience
- Hands-on linguistic analysis projects
