Team Leader, SRE

Responsibilities

• Manage the full career lifecycle of reports, including onboarding, feedback, and performance assessment
• Steer the SRE team's focus and goals using judgment against company objectives
• Own the reliability practice, including SLOs, error budgets, and incident response
• Oversee core infrastructure including Kubernetes, AWS, PostgreSQL, and CI infrastructure
• Manage vendor relationships and support rotation models
• Act as the team's spokesperson to the rest of engineering and senior leadership

Requirements

• Proven experience leading SRE, infrastructure, or platform engineering teams
• Deep technical background in site reliability, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production and AWS at scale
• Proficiency with Terraform and CI/CD systems (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins)
• Experience running reliability practices such as incident response and SLOs
• Strong written communication skills for an asynchronous, distributed environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of backend languages like Elixir, Java, Clojure, Node.js, or Python
• Experience with modern observability tools like OpenTelemetry and Honeycomb
• Database operations experience, particularly PostgreSQL or Aurora
• Experience with cloud cost management and FinOps
• Security capability from both defensive and offensive standpoints
