About the Company

Allen Control Systems (ACS) is a cutting-edge defense startup developing a small, autonomous gun turret that employs advanced computer vision and control systems to neutralize small drones and loitering munitions.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineers to document technical information on computer vision, control systems, robotics hardware, and embedded software
• Create operator manuals, user guides, system integration documents, and maintenance procedures
• Develop government-facing technical deliverables compliant with DoD and MIL-SPEC standards
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to document hardware assembly and wiring
• Support proposal efforts and contract deliverables with technical narratives and SOWs
• Manage document version control and maintain consistency across all publications
• Prepare and submit documentation deliverables to government agencies and program offices

Requirements

• 3-7 years of experience in technical writing
• Experience in defense, aerospace, robotics, or hardware systems
• Familiarity with DoD documentation standards, ITAR compliance, and MIL-SPEC guidelines
• Experience managing technical illustrations, system diagrams, and schematics
• Proficiency in Adobe FrameMaker, MS Office Suite, Confluence, or XML editors
• Ability to work in a fast-moving startup environment
