UNPAID VOLUNTEER - Deputy Director of Research - Energy & Environment

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate research priorities of Research Division II on energy, climate adaptation and environmental policy
• Lead applied research projects from design through data collection, analysis and policy outputs
• Supervise Research Officers, allocate responsibilities and provide feedback on outputs
• Review and approve concept notes, briefings and research reports before submission
• Develop research proposals and cross-disciplinary initiatives with other DTID divisions
• Translate findings into recommendations for governments and international organisations
• Represent DTID's research agenda through webinars, conferences and policy forums

Requirements

• Postgraduate degree in environmental policy, energy, climate, sustainability or related field
• Approximately 10 or more years of relevant professional experience
• Strong research, analytical and leadership skills
• Experience leading research teams and projects
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a relevant field
• Experience applying AI, blockchain or digital technologies to climate challenges
• Experience publishing research or policy papers
• Knowledge of an additional international language
