About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic day-to-day leadership for the Philanthropic Advising team
- Build a strong department culture and operating structure
- Directly supervise and develop team members
- Develop and advance a clear vision for the philanthropy department
- Support relationship management for a select portfolio of philanthropic clients
- Lead select engagements and provide strategic counsel on philanthropic strategy
- Identify, cultivate, and develop relationships with prospective clients and referral partners
- Contribute to the growth of Third Plateau's philanthropy business
- Represent Third Plateau externally in professional networks and speaking engagements
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in philanthropy
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams
- Significant experience advising philanthropists and family foundations
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills
- Experience leading business development efforts
- Strong understanding of the philanthropic landscape
- Operational and financial acumen
- Deep commitment to social impact
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred
