AI Controls Solutions Engineer (HVAC Systems)

Responsibilities

• Create facility models for product ingestion by working with Data Science teams
• Configure, commission, and tune AI control products based on customer requirements
• Identify and define product requirements to enable scalable automated tools
• Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring for deployed solutions
• Act as a technical Subject Matter Expert for customers, sales, and research initiatives

Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience as a controls engineer or programmer
• Expertise in HVAC and Data Center cooling control methodologies
• Knowledge of chiller plant fundamentals and sequence of operations
• Understanding of applied thermodynamics, refrigeration systems, and hydronics
• Experience with industrial protocols such as BACnet and Modbus
• Proficiency in PLC programming (ladder logic, text, or block programming)
• Ability to read and write Python scripts
• Strong communication skills for explaining complex AI/ML concepts to non-experts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience prototyping new technologies into commercial products
• Experience building and operating cloud-based services or codebases
• Experience applying AI/ML in controls applications
• Familiarity with markup languages like XML, JSON, or YAML
