About the role

About the Company

KoBold builds AI models for mineral exploration and deploys those models—alongside our novel sensors—to guide decisions on KoBold-owned-and-operated exploration programs. Since our founding in 2018, KoBold has become by far both the largest independent mineral exploration company and the largest exploration technology developer.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and implementation of stakeholder engagement and community consultations
  • Identify, map, and analyze stakeholders including communities, indigenous peoples, and local authorities
  • Build constructive relationships with local communities and government agencies to secure land access
  • Conduct social due diligence reviews and assist with social impact assessments (SIA)
  • Track compliance with social obligations and maintain risk and commitment registers
  • Provide social performance support to specific exploration and development projects
  • Coordinate with site departments like Geology, Operations, and Security to integrate social considerations
  • Contribute to the development of social performance procedures, tools, and templates

Requirements

  • 5 - 8 years of experience in social performance, community relations, or stakeholder engagement in mining, energy, agriculture, or infrastructure sectors
  • Experience working with First Nations, Métis, Inuit, or other Indigenous communities
  • Experience conducting social due diligence or social impact assessments
  • Excellent data collection, social monitoring, and report writing skills
  • Ability to travel to remote field sites for approximately 6 - 10 weeks per year
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States or Canada

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in French
  • Working knowledge of IFC Performance Standards, ICMM Mining Principles, or Equator Principles
  • Experience with stakeholder relationship management databases or GIS tools
  • Experience with Resettlement Action Plans
